Welcome to the 2017/2018 Junior Cricket Season!

Plans are already well advanced for the new season and registration is now open. See the website or follow us on Facebook for more details.

Our season officially starts on Saturday 23rd September in the NSJCA (except U9 and U17) before taking a break for the school holidays after which U9, U17 and our other programs commence.

Registration and Payment for our Programs

This season we have decided to make greater use of the MyCricket service for the purpose of registering and collecting payments for our NSJCA and Cricket Australia aligned programs including our U9-U17 NSJCA teams, Milo In2Cricket program and T20 Blast for Girls. This approach means we can save considerable time pre-season and assemble teams more efficiently.

All junior player registrations and membership of the Club have to be confirmed by the Senior Committee.

Changes to NSJCA Weekend Cricket Programs

Many of you will have read that Cricket Australia is continuing to change junior pathways across the country and the NSJCA will be adopting a number of new formats building on T20. As a result, fewer teams in the NSJCA will be able to play longer formats in younger age groups – specifically those on Saturdays. As many teams discovered last year, shorter formats and smaller teams actually means just as much cricket so don’t stress.

As with last season, we’ll be running skills assessments for those age groups we deem necessary. The skills assessment process will look at player performance stats as well as the results of batting, bowling and fielding skills assessments. The aim of this process is to ensure that players play in the age group and format most likely to benefit their cricket skills development.

Our Age Group coordinators will be in touch with all registered players/parents once assessment dates and locations have been confirmed.
