The Mosman Cricket Club is proud to announce the launch of the Emerging Whales program in season 2011/12.  Evolving out of the Centre of Excellence which has run successfully over the past 3 seasons, the program aims to develop the club’s most talented juniors, in order for them to represent Mosman at Green Shield level (U16 Grade competition) and then progress to playing senior grade cricket with the club.

The Squad - Players registered with the Mosman Cricket Club who are in the Green Shield team or Train-on Squad automatically qualify (24 players).  Another 6 places will be made available to Mosman juniors who are not in the Green Shield Squad.

The Program - The Emerging Whales program aims to develop the key physical attributes of our talented juniors, in order to prepare them for senior competition.  Training will therefore focus on fielding and strength and conditioning, relevant to the sport of cricket.  Specialist one-on-one coaching and analysis will also be available for each player throughout the program.

The cost of the program is $100 for the season.

Nominations - Coaches of players aged 13-16 (or in high school) are asked to nominate talented players who they believe have the potential to play Grade cricket in years to come.  Players should be dominant in their age group, and generally speaking, dominant in the age group above also, at least in their specialty.  Training will be with the other talented players, many of whom are currently playing senior grade.

Selection - Nominated players will be assessed statistically prior to training, and if invited, they will trial during an Emerging Whales session on a Friday evening at Balmoral.  Training will be each Friday from 5.00 – 6.30pm, coinciding with the junior cricket season (break over Christmas).  Players must be registered with a Mosman junior team in Season 2011/12 to qualify.
